              Frugalness Series

We are HUGE Sooner fans.  My 13-year-old son's room is a Sooner room(wish my whole house was Soonerfide.  But, I'm trying to show restraint. :)  I'm always on the lookout for neat items to put in his room without it costing an arm and a leg.  Below is two examples of how to be frugal.  One cost $25 dollars and one costs $3.

I first seen the red nutcracker(on the right) at Hallmark close to Christmas.  It plays music and moves up and down.  I liked it until I seen the price tag.  $50.  I set it back down and waited. After Christmas, it went on sale for 50% off.   For me, something different that's OU and $25 was a good buy.  I bought it and put it away to give at his birthday.

The basketball player on the left was recently aquired at a garage sale for $3!  It doesn't do anything special like the one on the right, but it is numbered on the bottom 100/500 and in great condition and my son loves it! Who knows how much it originally was.

There's many ways you can be frugal. These are just 2 examples. With Christmas around the corner, now is a great time to start looking for sales at garage sales, stores, etc.  You never know what you may find!

      Homeland Advertised Deals 9/15-9/21

I'm not to excited with this week's sales, but you can ALWAYS get something for free. :) I'm highlighting the deals in red which I feel are must do's.  If not for yourself, then to give to a neighbor or to the pantry especially the detergent. It only costs us 50cents, but to alot of people, they have a hard time affording detergent.

Red River Rivalry But $25, Get $5 OYNO Special.
I can't come up with a scenario to make this an AWESOME Deal.  Here's what I got.

Ball Park Franks $2.99
-.75/1 IP from here
= $1.49

Farmland Smoked Sausage $2.99
-$1/1 or .75/1 or .55/1 Home Mailer
=99cents, 1.49 or 1.89

Pringles $1.69
-$1/4
=$4.76 *This is not a good price.  Especially when Crest has them on sale 70cents to $1 all the time.

Lawry's Marinades $2
-.50/1 Seasoned Salt from coupons.com
=$1

Reynold's Wrap 55ft $3.99
-$1/1 IP from here
or -.75/1 SS 8/8
=$1.99 or $2.49

Pace Picante 2/$5
-.50/2 SS 6/27
or .40/2 SS 8/29
=$4 or $4.20

This comes to $25.42 pre-tax and pre-coupons.  $14.43 after coupons and $9.43 after the $5 ONYO

For me personally, the ONLY thing I will be buying out of this is the Reynold's Wrap.  55ft for $1.99, I'm good with that. Especially since the Holidays are right around the corner.
